lDielectric Withstand Voltage Test

Dielectric Withstand Voltage Test is one of the main methods to test the ability of electrical appliances, electrical equipment, electrical devices, electrical circuits and electrical safety equipment to withstand overvoltage. It is divided into two types: power frequency withstand voltage test and DC withstand voltage test. The test voltage of the power frequency withstand voltage test is more than one to several times the rated voltage of the equipment under test, and is not less than 1000V. The pressurization time is: 1 minute for equipment with porcelain and liquid as the main insulation, 5 minutes for equipment with organic solids as the main insulation, 3 minutes for voltage transformers, and 10 minutes for oil-immersed power cables. The DC withstand voltage test can draw the leakage current-voltage characteristic curve based on the leakage current values at different test voltages. The withstand voltage test of electrical equipment can reveal local defects, moisture and aging of the insulation.

In most regulations, the voltages used for withstand voltage testing are as follows:

Test Voltage = 2U + 1000 Volts

Among them, U represents the rated voltage of the product under test.

lInsulation test

Insulation testing is generally performed with an insulation withstand voltage tester. The insulation withstand voltage tester conducts insulation strength tests on various high-voltage electrical equipment, electrical components, and insulation materials under power frequency or DC high voltage. The insulation withstand voltage tester is a universal AC safety testing instrument, suitable for safety testing of household appliances and low-voltage electrical appliances. The leakage current value is adjusted by the coarse and fine adjustment knobs. When the leakage current exceeds the tolerance, the test voltage is automatically cut off and an audible and visual alarm signal is issued.
